Sarah Palin | Swimsuit Competition for 1984 Miss Alaska (Video)

This video clip of Sarah Palin (Sarah Heath) in the Swimsuit Competition for Miss Alaska in 1984 is simply too good to omit.

I am sure that the McCain Campaign saw all of this footage during their “vetting” process, and I am equally sure that Putan and other world leaders will find it amusing . . . but feel that they are on equal footing during complex global negotiations.

One heartbeat away . . . .

America, Conserative Watch, Politics, Sarah Palin

Kathleen Parker on Sarah Palin | If BS were currency, Palin could bail out Wall Street herself.

When the conservative commentaries start to ask for their candidates resignation, the situation is bad.

Kathleen Parker is a conversative commentator, and a self-admitted fan of Sarah Palinat first.  The message that she has now is quite different.  She argues that is Sarah Palin loves her party, and loves her country, that she needs to step down because she is “out of her league.”

Palin’s recent interviews with Charles Gibson, Sean Hannity, and now Katie Couric have all revealed an attractive, earnest, confident candidate. Who Is Clearly Out Of Her League.

No one hates saying that more than I do. Like so many women, I’ve been pulling for Palin, wishing her the best, hoping she will perform brilliantly. I’ve also noticed that I watch her interviews with the held breath of an anxious parent, my finger poised over the mute button in case it gets too painful. Unfortunately, it often does. My cringe reflex is exhausted.

Palin filibusters. She repeats words, filling space with deadwood. Cut the verbiage and there’s not much content there.

Take heed.  This is an example of the conservatives taking a big bite of humble pie.

Kathleen Parker had said earlier in the month that Sarah Palin is a “perfect storm of God, Mom and apple pie.”  Less than a month later to change her opinion is quite a flip-flop, or perhaps this is damage control for a political party staring a losing strategy in the face (lies, lies, and more lies–say whatever you have to to win).

Or, perhaps Sarah Palin is too religious (her relationship with her Pentecostal church is a bit too probelematic) and that she is too quick to be decisive–often times without enough information.  In fact, her behavior might be mildly reminiscent of the guy who got us into this place to begin with . . . .

On a more base level, perhaps Republicans are realizing that their candidate is lying to them . . . and don’t want to be inplicated.

Regardless of what the reasons may be, this is the first conservative calling for what the liberals have generally understood about Palin–she was a game changer to win ratings and votes, and McCain’s campaign managers didn’t care much about the consequences . . . .

Matt Damon | Sarah Palin, Dinosaurs, and the Nuclear Codes (Video)

In a CBS interview, Matt Damon gives a pretty precise run-down about the Sarah Palin.  The actuary calculations for McCain surviving his first term are less than 30%–a 70% or greater chance that Sarah Palin would become President of the United States.

Matt Damon says that he wants to know if she thinks that dinosaurs were created 4000 years ago (she is a creationist, and depending upon which brand of creationism, 4000 years ago might be the date when she believes God created the world).  He explains simply that she is going to have the nuclear codes–and, that we have the right to know if she beleives in dinosaurs being created 4000 years ago or not . . . .

Frightening stuff . . . .

Sarah Palin Accepts Protection from Witchcraft by Thomas Muthee (Video)

Here is the Video clip of Sarah Palin accepting protection from Witchcraft by Thomas Muthee at her long-time church.  Subsequently, she promised to “rebuke all forms of witchcraft,” although I do not believe that her choice should largely affect her role as Vice President–if she were to win it.

Back when John F. Kennedy was campaigning for President of the United States, the American people were VERY concerned that the pope would move into the White House and start giving directives to JFK.  It was a big issue at the time.

The chances of that happening to Sarah Palin is a real possibility–religious extremists giving her directives from God.  And, all of this is only one heart beat away from the White House . . . .

Troopergate | Sarah Palin and aides will NOT testify | Subpeonas are “Partisan Circus”

Hey, wait a minute!  The queen of transparency . . . miss “Hold Me Accountable” . . . Sarah Palin AND her staff are NOT going to testify in the Alaska Troopergate Inquiry (bi-partisan, I might add, with 6 Republicans and 2 Democrats).

First, there was the “I don’t know anything about it” phase where  Sarah Palin argued that she was unaware of what Walt Monegan was EVEN discussing.  This phase was short-lived and quickly followed by “I have done nothing wrong.”  Sarah Palin accentuated the point by adding the wonderful, news-ready headline, “Hold Me Accountable!” (There is a really good overview at Think Progress >>)

Next, there was the nomination.  I wonder if the 1-conversation vetting process with John McCain sounded more like confession than a professional discussion, or if all of the subsequent corruption was revealed later?

After the nomination, there was the release of the recorded phone conversation between her staffer, Frank Bailey and the Alaska State Troopers Office.  (You can listen to it here at Alaska Daily News >>)  Governor Sarah Palin put her staffer on PAID leave and said it was the product of staffers wanting to “gain the favor of the governor.” [The PAID leave thing irks me.  It is like a 4-month vacation that the taxpayers are funding.]

The next part of the saga: Governor Palin hired a private lawyer (because the State Attorney General made calls to pressure Walt Monegan and was implicated in the abuse) who filed an Ethics Complaint against HERSELF–in an effort to strip the investigation from the Legislative Investigation.  This was denied.

Governor Palin’s aides and husband refused to testify to the informal requests.

And, now, the Governor’s aides (including the Alaska State Attorney General) has elected to break the law and are refusing to testify to the legal subpeonas–because she has declined to participate.

In my opinion, this is the worst possible form of corruption.  Would any citizen of the United States be able to “decline to participate” and refuse to show up for a lawful subpeona?

Nope–we would be arrested.

John McCain: Health Update and the Secrecy of John McCain’s Medical Records

There are over 1000 pages of Medical Records for Senator John McCain, but we are not allowed to know what is in them.

In the last 2 weeks, John McCain has irresponsibly picked an unqualified Vice Presidential candidate that he says will merely “inquire about the health of the president and attend foreign funerals.”  If elected, John McCain, would be the oldest President of the United States.  Inquiring about the health of the President may be a full-time job.

Here is a video by Brave New Films about doctors, and their justification for, requesting the health records of John McCain and making them available to the public.  We know about his 4 bouts with skin cancer.  We know about his high blood pressure and high cholestoral.  We know about the 6 medications that he takes daily.  What else is there?

Breaking News: Sarah Palin | “Fiscal Reformer” adds Tanning Bed to Alaska Governor’s Mansion

Hockey mom.  Fiscal reformer.  Pittbull with Lipstick.  Tanorexic?

One of the first actions that Sarah Palin completed as a newly-elected governor of the great state of Alaska was to add a tanning bed to the Governor’s Mansion.

An unlikely news source for this sort of thing, the Narco News broke the story on Tuesday, September 16, that Governor Sarah Palin added a tanning bed to the Governor’s Mansion, although they were unable to confirm if the required electrical upgrade at the mansion was required as a result of the tanning bed, or if the electrical upgrades were already planned.

This news comes amidst quite a few conflicting reports that the self-proclaimed mantle of “fiscal reformer” that Sarah Palin wears is not universally recognized as one.  This news also comes amidst heavily supported arguments that the McCain/Palin Campaign has repeatedly lied to the media and the American public about their actions, policy, and the actions/policy of Democratic rival, Senator Barack Obama.

US Magazine reports:

“I don’t think it’s normal for people to have a tanning bed in their house, ” Wiese, who is based in Fairbanks said. “It’s expensive.”

Palin’s running mate, presidential candidate John McCain battled skin cancer in 1993, and again in 2000.

“I coat SPF 30 on myself first thing in the morning, and wear long sleeves and a hat whenever I’m in the sun,” McCain has told Newsweek.

And, that is the exact catch.  The rest of the America is concerned about John McCain’s FOUR rounds of Skin Cancer battles.  His friend, Joe Lieberman, argued that John McCain has a mere 15% chance to survive his cancer during the 8 potential years of a 2-term presidency.  And, Sarah Palin, his unqualified Vice Presidential running mate, installed a tanning bed in the Governor’s Mansion of Alaska.

Hockey Mom’s don’t have tanning beds . . . .

What do Alaskan Women think about Sarah Palin? | Sherry Whitstine, Alaskan Woman, Anti-Palin

We have seen more than one GOP news spin about what Alaskan Women think about Sarah Palin.  There were the Hockey Mom’s for Sarah Palin signs, the glowing review from her Palin’s sister, and of course, the assortment of supporters.  There is one woman, at least, from Alaska who doesn’t agree.

According to the recent New York Times article,

And four months ago, a Wasilla blogger, Sherry Whitstine, who chronicles the governor’s career with an astringent eye, answered her phone to hear an assistant to the governor on the line, she said.

“You should be ashamed!” Ivy Frye, the assistant, told her. “Stop blogging. Stop blogging right now!”

Before anyone cries foul about her motivations of her blog, please note that there are currently no advertisements on her blog.  So . . . money might not be a factor here.

Regardless, she has all sorts of information about Sarah Palin’s record as City Coucilwoman of Wasilia, as Mayor of Wasilia, and as her actions as Governor.
